LANTERN MAKING COMPETITION

For the first time, Wellington Night Market is proud to present you with the Lantern Making Competition to inspire and encourage children's creativity through the art of lantern making. A $1000 Prezzy® card grand prize will go to the most creative lantern, proudly sponsored by Western Union: Send the gift of cash with Western Union at one of over 200 PostShops nationwide. Visit your local PostShop today. (Terms and conditions apply)

All participants will have chance to get involved in our new project: Midsummer Night Dream Lantern Parade.

The Lantern Parade takes place on Friday, 16th of February. It is an activity which has never been seen before in Wellington. The procession involves hundreds of local families who have made their own lanterns at our lantern making workshops, giant lanterns made by local artists, and dancers to showcase the artistic and creative side of Wellington.
